R-Control SIPs (Structural Insulated Panels) were selected in the design of this university student housing complex. R-Control SIPs provided an energy efficient wall system and reduced air leakage. Reducing air leakage provides a more comfortable living environment for the students.

Speed of Construction

The fast installation of the R-Control SIP walls helped expedite the builder’s construction schedule. The 182’ x 48’ three story building was ready for finishing within 12 days. Construction continued without delay throughout the harsh Montana winter. After the successful construction of this first structure, 10 other identical buildings were added to the student housing complex using SIPs.
